  1. Very interesting. I think Poe is one of the most important author of English literature because he reinvented a way of writing. From the thing we studied I can say that Poe’s writing is really interesting because it can give you the sensation of fear or madness. For example in the text we read “The Tell-tale heart” , it is like the main character was there with me. Like him was telling me what happened or like I was there when he killed the old man. However the thing writing in the glogster is really interesting because it talks about the thing we have studied about Poe too! For example I find fascinating the fact that Poe want to reach a single effect and so he wrote short stories just to focus on the effect, to focus on an objective! And he does that by using some words that he accurately choose or devices for example repetition or simile and a lots of exclamation. All of this put together make a beautiful text to read because of the story itself(which can be appreciate only by those. who likes mysteries and fear), but also for the way it is written which can be appreciate by everyone! So, finally, I’d like to say that Poe is a great author and that I enjoyed studying it because of his innovation!..by Giorgio Aglieri VH

This glog is fantastic, because it act for an hypothetical interview to Edgar Allan Poe. We can see like the "poet" try to explain his way of writing in all the clouds, for example the short stories are considered the best way to be direct and effective to communicate some feelings to the reader, like fear and perverseness in "The Tell-tale Heart". He's successful on the intent, and he try also to promote the gothic aspect of the story whit the setting (always inner and dark) and with the characteristics of the narrator, who looks mad (because he try to explain us that he's sane), obsessed (of the creepy eye), maniacal and perverse (for the repetition of the action every night for 8 night, and for the security that he loses when he talks with the officiers). At the end the song The tell-tale heart by the alan parsons project is the best choice for this text

  3. We totally agree with Andrea Lacagnina's comment because he focalized all the important aspects of Edgar Allan Poe, especially when he talks about short stories and his intent. Infact, as Andrea said, E. Poe was able to be direct to express his feelings through short stories. Chiara Maniscalco, Laura Buscemi VH

  4. I think that these two comment are very useful to understand how the glog was made, because we haven't seen it yet. I found that the analysis was so accurate because it represents how E.A.Poe wrote, and what he wanted to instill into the soul of the reader, however I personally believe that they had to analyse and show the turning point of E.Poe's short stories, as it is presented as a climax, as well. Furthermore the story as they said is very dark and it represent the inner side of every man just as to show the gothic in E.Poe's poetry. Sergio Lacagnina, Valeria Biondolillo VH

  5. Poe invented a new way to write: short story. The principles concern the unity of effect, the rejection of didactic aims, the brevity and the appeal to emotions create a single effect. This is why he chose the short story rather than the novel. The most important theme is madness. I think that this new way to write stories is very interesting and create a new effect.

  6. I think Edgar Allan Poe is one of the most interesting author that we studied. With his short stories, he communicate several feelings. Concerning "The Tell Tale Heart", Poe created a short story which cuold makes the reader inside it. The place where the short story is set is dark and tiny to make suspence higher.

  8. The "Tell-Tale Heart" is considereted one of the most important short stories, because we can see the most important characteristics of Poe's literature: themes of horror, crime and death, the first person narrator, the climax and the close ending. Thanks to these things we can feel some effects like suspance, curiosity and we can go inside man's coscience.

  9. Although we couldn't see the glog, we can speak about "The Tell-Tale Heart" and E. A. Poe's way to write short stories. According to Andrea Lacagnina's comment Poe can successfully communicate the state of madness, obsessions and feras of the protagonist to reader through the protagonist's way of talking and acting.

  10. I completely agree with Andrea. Infact this glog is very impressive for its way of melting different communication methods as it give an hypotetical voice to E.A.Poe and successfully explains his main features as a writer also with a strong visual impact.

  11. Poe has the incredibe ability to synthetize enormous and mistic feelings in short stories and he aim to guarantee the perfect literary expression using focuses ad peculiar figures of speech such as methafores, similes, alliterations. Poe can greatly manipulate these grammatical and stylistical ability and give to his stories dark and Gothic atmospheres, as he could directly interact whith the reader's heart.

  12. We honestly agree with the point of view of Andrea La Cagnina focusing on the piece when he spoke about Poe. We think he chose to write short stories also because he thought a story had to be read at one sitting to intrigue the reader, but also to show the gothic aspect like in the tell-tale heart. We agree also with the thinking of Giorgio Aglieri when he spoke about his feelings when he was reading the story, in fact it is like the narrator was there with us.

  14. We liked this post because the interview is well structured and we have the impression to read a real interview to Edgar Allan Poe.
The only thing we didn't like is the song because it doesn't create the typical atmosphere of Edgar Allan Poe's tales of horror.
