Il colore della libertà

Nelson Mandela was a South African politician and Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.
He was the leader of the struggle against apartheid, a policy which aimed to
undermine the rights of citizens of South African blacks and today is considered a hero fighting for freedom. In 1961he was the guide and coordinated a campaign against the army to put an end to political action which went against. He raised money and organized military training but in 1962 he was arrested. The charge included the involvement in the organization of armed action and research to involve other countries against South Africa. In February 1985 he gave up even though he did not want to abandon his fight against the apartheid and said :"What freedom am I being offered while the organisation of the people remains banned? Only free men can negotiate. A prisoner cannot enter into contracts.". After his release on 2 February 1990, he won the Nobel Prize for Peace, was elected President of South Africa and at the end of his office continued the action of supporting the human rights.

Cathedral

I push open the heavy wooden door and enter my cathedral
the awakening sun yawns and stretches
sending tendrils of light
that weave their way through the stained glass windows
erasing the darkness
and illuminating dust particles
The air is softly pugent ...
the perfume of frankinsence
lingers
clinging to silent prayers
I lie down
and put my cheek on the cool stone floor
polished smooth
by the feet of a thousand pilgramages

.... and I remember who I am

In 1994 Yasser Arafat (the leader of ALP), Shimon Peres (Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel) and Yithzak Rabin (Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Israel) won the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to create the peace in Middle East.

Since many years the conflicts between Palestine and Israel neighbour states were the must menacing for the international politics and have caused suffering for many people.

With many accords especially the Oslo Accord, Arafat, Rabin and Peres have made a contribute to make peace among this countries by cooperation to replace the hate.

Nobel Peace Prize 1964

“I HAVE A DREAM THAT ONE DAY THIS NATION WILL RISE UP AND LIVE OUT THE TRUE MEANING OF ITS CREED”.
“WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS TO BE SELF-EVIDENT ,THAT ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL”
Martin Luther King, Jr., (January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968).In 1954, Martin Luther King became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. Always a strong worker for civil rights for members of his race, King was, by this time, a member of the executive committee of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the leading organization of its kind in the nation. In 1957 he was elected president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, an organization formed to provide new leadership for the now burgeoning civil rights movement. The ideals for this organization he took from Christianity; its operational techniques from Gandhi.
In 1964, at the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. When notified of his selection, he announced that he would turn over the prize money of $54,123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement.
On the evening of April 4, 1968, while standing on the balcony of his motel room in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was to lead a protest march in sympathy with striking garbage workers of that city, he was assassinated.
