A Romantic sonnet

They need us

Their eyes  full of tears
Beat our heart to give a hand
To all people who have left their land
Running away from their fears.

With their heart full of pain and misery
They cry for help, solidarity and peace
After a long time spent on the seas,
Leaving us full of sorrow as they tell their story.

How could we live and not consider
Our brothers and sisters travelling from far away
With such a burden in their heart?

Let’s help, let’s start
Doing something to them until one day
They’ll have freedom once and forever.

  1. I have read this article and although in this period there is not much talk about this topic, it doesn’t mean that there are no more immigrants. People keep running away from their county for wars, for poverty and they go to research of luck. This poem describes perfectly how people feel when they leave their land and for this reason I was very impressed. We have to help these people because if we had been in their country we would have wanted someone to help us.
