Everything in the painting reminds to movement and to the strong uncontrollable power of nature. Man is terrified and idle in front of the eruption, in fact we can see several men that are trying to escape from that violence. The clever use of colours reminds observants to apocalyptic biblic scene: the bright light in the middle could represent God that is giving punishment to men and this sense of destruction is rounded by blue tones, which reminds to the Final End.
