Freedom of the Press

The essential element for a democracy in a state is freedom. How can you see it living in a country?
The main basis is the freedom of the word, the possibility citizens can speak up their own thoughts, opinions, critics about politics, economics, government, health care and so on everywhere without any fear of being arrested. The following step is being able to write opinions and critics on newspapers. Press represents one of the pillars of a democratic constitution that generates the so called Freedom of the Press.
It is very interesting to notice that in year 2007 Italy was ranked at 64th position and it was declared completely free, but in 2009 it has slipped down at 73rd position and declared partly free. What has happened in two years? What is the reason why something has changed?

  1. I think that the freedom is a essencial condition which must be respected on all the world , on all the societis, on all the populations. The freedom is the only condition that allows at all the popolation to live and to spent a beautiful life. But,although I've said this ,I think the italian people are losing the freedom(freedom of the press, freedom of speech and so on ...)for Silvio Berlusconi, the italian first minister, who is trying to repress our rights.

  2. "Man is born free, then nobody can make him die a slave." In Italy, currently a free press has never been denied or restricted because it can be shown that looking at any newspaper and reading the news is disclosed only to make negative judgments of people on the subject of the news. But fortunately this rarely accessed but the few times that happens creates controversy really heavy and unnecessary based on rumors of people.
