Oscar Wilde

The blind man who sees clearly

A young talented sculptor loved an older and ugly woman and when he looked at the ungraceful figure he was inspired and was able to create wonderful statues. The crone was unfaithful and loved a blind gifted musician who realized her unpleasantness of soul and body and left her. The sculptor heard what the musician said as an explanation to her and finally looking at her with open eyes, he  became aware of her ugliness, he cease to love her. The woman discovered her love for him, but it was too late.
